Substitute Roles

Substitutes help maintain classroom continuity and support student learning when regular staff are unavailable.

On-Call Substitutes

  • Matched directly to assignments when coverage is needed

Tiered Support Team (W-2 Employees)

Our tiered model offers opportunities for growth, from classroom support to credentialed behavioral intervention.

General Paraeducators

  • Assist teachers with lessons and classroom management
  • Provide individualized student support
  • Help with behavior strategies and light administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and families

Behavioral Support Paraeducators

  • Deliver targeted behavioral and academic support
  • Collect and track student progress data
  • Support classroom routines and intervention plans
  • Communicate with teachers and student support team

Certified / Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT / CBT / BT)

  • Implement behavior intervention plans in school, home, or community settings
  • Collect and document progress data
  • Provide emotional, social, and academic support
  • Communicate with families and treatment team members
  • Active RBT (BACB) or CBT (Department of Health) credential required
  • Crisis intervention training preferred

BCBAs & BCaBAs

(Contracted Role – future salaried options as BECS grows)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop treatment plans
  • Supervise, coach, and train BECS staff and school partners
  • Implement and oversee programs for behavior reduction and skill acquisition
  • Collaborate with IEP case managers, school staff, and BECS professionals
  • Analyze data to guide decision-making and adjust plans
  • Maintain compliance with BACB ethics and BECS policies

Qualifications

  • Active BCBA or BCaBA certification in good standing
  • Experience in developing and supervising intervention plans
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Must meet all state and local licensure requirements

General Requirements for All BECS Roles

  • High school diploma or equivalent (degree/credentials required for certain positions)
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass federal fingerprinting background check
  • Reliable transportation (not public transit)
  • Three professional references verifying attendance and reliability
  • Active and current credentials/certifications for specialized positions
  • Crisis intervention certification (CPI, Right Response, Safety Care) is highly desirable
